Jamie MacDonald is originally from Kingston, Ontario, and is a graduate of Queen’s University (B.A. (Hons), B.Ed.). He is a largely self-taught artist. He enjoys working in a number of styles and mediums: acrylics for landscapes, oils for portraits, and Photoshop for digital prints. As a member of the Society of Canadian Artists and Portrait Society of Canada, he has been involved in a number of group, solo, and juried shows throughout Canada.
In his career as an elementary and secondary teacher, Jamie has taught visual arts in Ontario, the Caribbean, and Alberta to students of all ages. He firmly believes that artistic excellence is something anyone can pursue and achieve, and his experiences across Canada have helped shape him as an artist with a deep appreciation for our nation’s beauty and heritage. Jamie currently lives with his wife in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
